Lindy Hop Foundation Course A

This is a fun and friendly four-week course suitable for complete beginners and those who have taken Lindy Hop classes before. A perfect space to meet new people, learn and solidify the fundamentals of social dancing to awesome Swing Jazz music!

In these sessions we will cover basic rhythmical patterns and build up your movement and connection skills through different exercises and moves. You’ll be equipped with a small repertoire and techniques that you can mix and match on the social dance floor.

Savoy Charleston Course

Charleston was pivotal to Lindy Hop as seen in the Savoy Ballroom in the 1930’s as well as in the film and theatre industries of the same era, and still is. It is particularly great for dancing to faster tempos, offering a myriad of interesting vocabulary that bring up play, vivacity and energy to the dancefloor.

In this course, we will kick (pun intended) deeper into the peculiarities and technique of this style and explore a wide range of figures and transitions that will take your dancing (and jamming) to the next level!

(Examples of moves: Hacksaws, Corridors, Around-the-Word, Tandem Variations, Savoy Kicks).

Waterloo Special: Watch & Go + sara Leaving Party

sara is saying goodbye to Swing Patrol Waterloo (& London, kind of), and we have something special in store to send her off!

This special class will cater for different levels of dancers (except beginners) and will introduce a different teaching/ learning style to what you may be used to in class! Taking inspiration from the stories we heard from the first generations of Lindy Hoppers back in Harlem, when dance classes weren’t a thing and dancers would learn from watching other dancers during the night. In this workshop Robin and sara will show a different set of moves a bunch of times, but it’s your responsibility to look for the mechanics and techniques that enable them. They’ll be taking specific questions – so get ready to scrutinise each movement, the more you question, the better you learn!
