ThursdayWith Sara Bang and Robin Hatton-Brown
A big hello from our Waterloo classes!
Join Robin and Sara for a lesson or two in Swing Dancing. What is Swing Dancing? It’s a collection of dances from the 1920s-1940s including Lindy hop and Charleston. Read more about it here.
14th December
Waterloo Special – Musicality Workshop (2 hours)
Level: Improvers/Intermediate. Attendees must know basic Lindy Hop vocabulary in six and eight counts and be able to socially dance these.
This workshop aims to delve into understanding music from different perspectives. How is the music structured? How can we, as dancers, hit breaks and add flavour? How does my dancing change according to the music? Our approach will start from a conceptual point of view as we build progressively into more specific examples you can take away.

Charleston will get you grooving smoothly when the music tempo gets a little faster. Improvers/Intermediate Lindy Hop Course
Second class | 8.10pm – 9.10pm – pre-book a 4 week course
Have you taken a bunch of beginner lessons and started to socially dance? Are you hitching to take your dance further? This course is for you!
Building up on your Lindy Hop foundations, this course will delve deeper into the technicalities of dancing – such as pulse, groove, posture, body tension, stretch/ compression, direction/rotation – which are core in creating movement and shapes.
Aided by ad hoc exercises, we will cover these concepts by revisiting basic figures, expanding on those, and learning more complex moves. We will, as part of this course, be visiting the famous Swing Out.
