Swing Patrol in eHarmony’s Great Date Guide

“There’s a reason swing dancers are always smiling” say eHarmony who featured our swing dancing classes in their Great Date Guide as a fun and recommended way to get to know your date. Check it out!

Dirty Dancing proved that the way to a girl’s heart is through her dancing shoes and Strictly Come Dancing proves that you don’t need to be Patrick Swayze to enjoy the odd twirl across a dance floor. So whether you’ve got two left feet or were born to jitterbug, a dance class could be the best way to get to know your date a little better, away from the formality of a sit-down dinner.

“For a really fun date we met up at a Swing Patrol dancing class – pretty fun for ice breaking,” says eHarmony’s Linda, who went along with her date Tom. Swing Patrol’s classes teach you how to dance to the big band music of the 1930s and 40s – think perky ponytails and even perkier dancers, girls being flipped over shoulders and big smiles all round. And there’s a reason swing dancers are always smiling – it’s actually a fun dance to try and free from the seductive-stigma of other choices like salsa.

They’ve got classes all over London too, from Kings Cross to Camberwell and Soho to Shoreditch, so there’s bound to be one near you. Plus with classes most days of the week (apart from Friday and Saturday) it’s ideal for a mid-week date with a difference.
