Bishopsgate Swing at the Bishopsgate Institute – The Christmas Edition 2018

Our Christmas ball was a total sellout this year! Kicking off with our usual taster class taught by the lovely Lydia Francis and Luca Zanni, we then danced the night away to live music from Michael McQuaid’s Swing Stars interspersed with sets from our awesome vintage DJs!

We had exciting performances starting with the Swing Patrol blues troupe the Down and Outs, our all female troupe the Dinahs, and ending with the teacher’s performance (a hilarious interpretation of Fatboy Slim’s ‘Praise You’! And lets not forget to thank the Skyliners who transformed themselves into our wonderful crew of taxi dancers for the night!

This year for the first time in Swing Patrol London’s 10 year history, we had a Legend of the Year: The People’s Choice award, where our community of lovely dancers nominated and voted for this year’s Legend! The much anticipated result was announced at the Christmas Ball and the result was a tie between two people! It was won jointly be the wonderful Cat Foley (who was also our host for the evening) and Conrad Edwards! Whoooop!

Thanks to our awesome photographers  Andrew John Simpson and Matt Christie we captured some amazing images of the night. Check out our awesome photo gallery below!
