Swing Patrol’s 10th Anniversary Celebrations!

Swing Patrol celebrated their 10th Birthday party on the evening of the 23rd February. The festivities kicked off with a taster class at 7pm with the amazing Nick & Susie. We then danced the night away until 2am to the sounds of our awesome vintage DJs Ben Cook, Christopher Allen and Vic Araullo Peters! And lets not forget, live music from the one and only Palace Avenue Swing!

The evening saw performances from our amazing dance troupes the Dinahs, the Brat Pack and even our brand new developmental troupe Club Stomp! We even had a special student dance choreographed by our awesome Kings Cross and Vauxhall teachers Jeff ‘n’ Steph!

The evening was an emotional one as Scott Cupit, our founder, took to the stage to thank everyone who has contributed to creating such a vibrant community of dancers over the past ten years! This was followed by quite literally the BIGGEST cake you’ve ever seen, made by our very own much loved Brixton teacher and aerialst extraordinaire Michaela Delmonte! What a night!

A BIG shout out to our awesome photographers Andrew John Simpson, Mark Hart, Matt Christie and Pawel Gawronski who captured some AMAZING images of the night. Check them out our awesome photo gallery below and click the links above to view the full albums!

We acknowledge that the core dances we teach, perform and share come from African American and Black culture, as does the jazz music we love. We acknowledge that we do so without lived experience of this culture and are deeply grateful to be able to experience this amazing art form. We endeavour to continue educating […]
