Rupert Sanford-Scutt

Legend of 2014

Rupert Sanford-Scutt

Rupert discovered his passion for swing dancing after spending his whole life convinced he had no rhythm and ‘couldn’t dance to save my life’. One winter’s day he dragged a friend along to give this Swing thing a try as it featured the jazz music he loves so much. The next week at class the friend was nowhere to be seen but Rupert was hooked, attending classes on any days he had free. By the end of the year he had joined the Rhythm Rascals performance troupe with whom he performed at many gigs and events. Since beginning his swing journey Rupert has travelled widely to learn from some of the very best international instructors and has danced as far as New Zealand, Australia, Sweden, Germany, etc… In 2012 Rupert was lucky enough to be asked to be part of the teaching team with Swing Patrol and has since performed at many festivals including Love Supreme, Wilderness, Isle of Wight and Boomtown. He has also been selected to be part of the Hermes team at ‘Vogue fashion rocks Night Out’ as well as appearing in Hotel Chocolat’s 2013 Christmas adverts.
