Angel – Stompin’ the BluesWednesday
Welcome to our midweek blues night in the heart of Angel. Join the Blues team every Wednesday for two great blues dancing lessons!
Level 1 – Absolute beginners class | 7pm – 8pm
Never danced blues before? Then this class is for you! We will focus on learning the fundamentals of blues dancing: the pulse, dancing with a partner, leading and following, the basic footwork and some fun variations so you can show off on the dance floor! Our classes are drop-in, meaning no need to book in advance and no partner required — just come along when it suits you!
Level 2 – Intermediate class | 8.15pm – 9.15pm
This class is aimed at people with more blues dancing experience. To attend this intermediate class you should have completed at least 4 months of beginners classes and should feel comfortable with your basic steps and blues style. You need to have learnt how to dance ballroom blues and juke joint blues and have grasped the idea of connection in all holds. If you feel ready to be challenged then this is the class for you!
Social Dancing | 9.15pm – till late
Whether you are attending your first lesson or you are an experienced dancer we highly encourage you to stay after class for a boogie and a well earned drink! Each week fantastic DJs play a selection of Blues music for your enjoyment. With plenty of room for you to strut your stuff, what’s not to love!
Our class takes place at the Joker of Penton Street. Check out the map below and to see how to get there
