Welcome to Swing Patrol Finsbury Park
Welcome to Swing Patrol Finsbury Park! We run fun and friendly swing dance classes on Thursday nights at T-Bird.
All our classes are completely drop in and you do not need to come with a partner or book in advance. Below you’ll find details of our classes, levels and lesson plan for the coming months. Our lessons are £10 per class, or £15 if you do both classes in the evening. You can of course use Swing Patrol class cards at our venue as well. Come along and have some fun with us at Finsbury Park!
7pm – 8pm: Level 1 Beginner swing dance class
These classes are for new dancers, absolutely no experience required, you can start any time and no need to bring a partner. We go over the basics from scratch every week and then throw in new fun moves to get you dancing. We cater to first time dancers while offering new content each week for returning dancers. Across a 10 week rolling schedule we aim to offer you 3 weeks of Charleston, 6-beat Lindy hop and 8-beat Lindy hop as well as a routine or solo jazz class so that you get to try all of the main swing dance rhythms and footwork as you go.
8:15pm – 9:15pm: Level 1.5 Intermediate class
This is for dancers who want to improve after having grasped the basic 8-beat Lindy hop, 6-beat Lindy hop and side-by-side Charleston footwork. While we do break down new moves in class we do not re-cap the basic footwork. Ask us for a refresher before the class if you are unsure or come along to the beginner class and do both! We teach all new moves and technique each week and sometimes offer routine, taster classes or social dancing in this session.
Taking more than one class on the same evening? Your second class is half price — just £5!

Social Dancing – Every Thursday!
We now offer 15 minutes of social swing dancing after the L1 class and there’s time for more dancing after our L1.5 class too — so you can stay back and practice your new moves.
The dance floor is in a downstairs room only accessible by stairs.
