Welcome to Sin City Blues
Leave the stresses of your day behind as you surrender to the rhythm of the blues and get your mid-week mojo working every Tuesday evening at The Driver with Sin City Blues!
7pm — 8pm: Level 1 Beginners blues dance class (upstairs)
Never danced blues before? Not even sure what it is? Then this class is for you! We will focus on learning the fundamentals of blues dancing: the pulse, dancing with a partner, leading and following, the basic footwork and some fun variations so you can get social dancing straight away and show off on the dance floor!
Classes are drop-in, meaning no need to book in advance and no partner required — just come along and enjoy!
8:15pm — 9:15pm: Level 2 Intermediate class (downstairs)
This class is a progression from the Level 1 class, suitable for dancers who have completed at least 1 full cycle (12 weeks) of classes in the Level 1, or have gained relevant dance experience elsewhere. For Level 2 you need to feel confident improvising with material, be able to lead and follow with confidence and clarity, and understand the fundamental components of blues dance.
Taking more than one class on the same evening? Your second class is half price — just £5!
9:15pm — 11:00pm: Social dancing and practice
Whether you are attending your first lesson or you are an experienced dancer we highly encourage you to stay after class for practising and social dancing! It’s free of charge and a great chance to get to know the London blues community!
Five minute’s walk from the hustle and bustle of King’s Cross Station you’ll find a buzz of an altogether different nature at one of London’s last hidden gems; The Driver. The Bar on the first floor, with its high ceilings, comfortable sofas and warm welcoming decor provides the perfect backdrop for the most memorable blues dances! Contemporary British food alongside an impeccable wine, craft beer and cocktail list are on the menu for you to make a night of it!
